Do

  • Define and execute the global SEO strategy across highly competitive markets such as Germany, Austria, and others
  • Conduct advanced keyword research with a focus on high-intent, purchase-oriented keywords (including branded pharma terms)
  • Perform full-scale SEO audits: technical, on-page, and content
  • Optimize site structure, meta data, schema, content hierarchies, and indexation
  • Partner closely with content, product, and dev teams to implement SEO best practices
  • Lead geo-targeting and local SEO initiatives: hreflang, ubdirectories/subdomains, and multilingual strategies
  • Monitor rankings and performance using tools like GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, etc.
  • Stay on top of algorithm updates, competitor moves, and industry shifts to proactively adjust strategies
  • Contribute to ethical link-building campaigns, competitor backlink research, and outreach
  • Report on performance and conversions with clear attribution to organic effortsWho We’re Looking For

  • A company operating e-commerce websites in Tier-1 Western European markets (especially in the pharma space) is seeking an SEO expert to lead organic growth for some of the most competitive purchase-intent queries in the industry.
  • You will need to work with high-difficulty keywords in tough markets like Germany, battling aggressive affiliates, entrenched competitors, and well-funded players.
  • We’re looking for a data-driven, fearless strategist who thrives on challenges, aims for first position, and knows how to deliver measurable business impact.

Minimum qualifications & must-haves:

  • 5+ years of SEO experience in competitive markets (pharma, finance, casino, etc.)
  • Proven track record in Tier-1 international markets — with real examples of competitive keyword wins
  • Hands-on experience with both technical and content-driven SEO
  • Experience working on large, multi-language websites and geo-targeting strategies
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with SEO toolsets (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc.)
  • Ability to lead and collaborate cross-functionally with developers, writers, and product stakeholders
  • Managerial experience leading SEO teams — an advantage
  • Fluent English is a must; German or other European languages a plus
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of technical SEO, site architecture, and crawl optimization
